I love sewing and have made things as long as I can remember.
My Etsy shop was born when I began to combine my love of drawing and nature with my love of sewing and vintage fabrics.

I stitch mini textile treasures which are really like little paintings in fabric and thread. I treat snippets of fabric and threads the same way I treat paints and pencils, layering and blending the colours to create my creatures. Sometimes I use printed vintage fabric as backgrounds for my embroideries. I have a large collection of recycled and vintage fabrics and I like to spend time selecting just the right piece as the perfect setting for a stitched bird, animal or insect. I really enjoy breathing new life into discarded and forgotten fabrics and turning them into new little treasures.

My tangled, overgrown garden is a perfect home for wildlife and so is a constant source of inspiration for me. I love to watch the birds and feed them several times a day, and also enjoy spotting woodmice, newts and frogs. In the summer bees are busy in all the flowers and fluttering butterflies fill the air, there are often buzzards soaring overhead.

I work from home in my bright studio, although I often take my sewing outside on sunny days. I love to spend my days sewing and drawing, accompanied by my cat, black velvet rex rabbit and my trusty radio.
All the pieces in my shop have been made with the utmost care and attention to detail. I am a bit of a perfectionist and make sure that everything is finished to the highest possible degree. I want to convey a love of nature in everything I do, and also a sense of nostalgia by reusing fabrics and trims from the past. My shop name is also inspired by the past and memories-- Agnes and Cora were the names of my two grandmothers, Agnes my Scottish Granny and Cora my English Nana.
